KPM CPAs & Advisors, Springfield, was named among the top five largest payroll companies in the area by the Springfield Business Journal, which ranks Southwest Missouri payroll companies by payroll amount processed.

NEW JERSEY

Douglas Heun, partner at Frideman, Somers Point, announced his retirement, effective April 30. Heun has worked at the firm for more than a decade, joining after Friedman’s merger with Tracey, Heun, Brennan & Company, which Doug founded in 1972.

The New Jersey Society of CPAs, Roseland, announced its Scholarship Fund granted approximately $230,000 in scholarships to New Jersey high school and college students. (Read the full story.)

Giuseppe Soccodato was hired as managing director in the restructuring and dispute resolution practice at CohnReznick, New York.

Kelly Mandell-Klumpp was promoted to senior analyst at Brisbane Consulting Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lumsden McCormick. In other firm news, Paul Herlan, director of business development at Lumsden McCormick and Brisbane Consulting Group, was named vice president of the board of directors for Southeast Foundation.

The Internal Revenue Service announced leadership appointments: Douglas O’Donnell to IRS deputy commissioner, Services and Enforcement; Sunita Lough returning to serve as the IRS commissioner of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division; Nikole Flax becoming commissioner of LB&I after serving as deputy commissioner of the division since 2017; Holly Paz replacing Flax as deputy commissioner of LB&I; and Edward Killen, who has been serving as acting commissioner of TE/GE, returning to the role of deputy commissioner of TE/GE. Jane Norberg, chief of the SEC's Office of the Whistleblower, announced her plan to leave the agency this month. Norberg has been with the office since soon after inception in 2012, serving as its first deputy chief and, since 2016, as its chief.
