Moss Adams adds 14 partners; Weaver expands health care practice; and other recent hires, promotions and personnel news from firms across the country.


James Cason, a member of the audit division at Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors, Birmingham, was inducted into the 2018 Leadership Birmingham class, joining 49 other leaders who will be educated on current issues and challenges in the Birmingham region.


Marc Wolf was appointed to partner in the accounting and assurance department at CohnReznick, Los Angeles, to lead the financial services industry practice in the firm’s south and west regions.


Josh Billiard and Drew Mattox were promoted to partner at EKS&H, Fort Collins. Billiard joined the firm in 2006 and Mattox, who co-leads the automotive niche, joined in 2013. Both have nearly 12 years of public accounting experience.

Albert Lopez was named CEO of the Americas region of BDO International, Chicago, succeeding Keith Farlinger, who was previously announced as the new CEO of the BDO network. Mike Musick, assurance managing partner for BDO USA’s Nashville office, will succeed Lopez as assurance managing partner for BDO USA’s Southeast region and Stephen Ferrara, BDO USA’s chief operating officer, will succeed him as the U.S. representative to the BDO Americas Board, which Lopez will now chair. All these appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2018.


Lisa Blankman, a manager in the audit and assurance services department at Sponsel CPA Group, Indianapolis, has been appointed to the board of directors at nonprofit group AYS, which provides educational and safe programs for Central Indiana students outside of school hours


Janet Mayne was hired as a bookkeeper at Louis T. Roth & Co., Louisville.

Erica Horn was hired as an associate director of tax services at Dean Dorton Allen Ford, Lexington.


Lisa Blackmore, a partner at Squire, Lemkin + Co., and Faye Miller, a partner at RSM US, have been recognized as Maryland’s “Women to Watch” by the Maryland Association of CPAs in Hanover, with Blackmore honored in the Emerging Leader category and Miller in the Experience Leader category. Launched in 2014 by the American Institute of CPAs, the awards highlight the accomplishments and contributions of women in the profession.

Mike Chelius, principal at REDW, Albuquerque, was recognized with the 2017 Outstanding Member in Public Practice award by the New Mexico Society of CPAs, to be honored at the NMSCPA’s annual “Pride in the Profession” ceremony on November 2.

Cindy Gross was hired as a director in the information technology audit practice at Brown Edwards & Co., Harrisonburg.

The new partners are: Christopher Bell, Kate Jackson and Cameron Williams in the Central Valley, Calif., office. Bell specializes in health care and consulting services; Jackson focuses on audit work for hospitals, federally qualified health centers, foundations and associations; and Williams specializes in real estate transactions and syndicated private equity structures. David Sage, who focuses on clients in the technology and manufacturing industries, in San Francisco. Dustin Marciniak and Lewis Fisher in the firm’s Orange County, Calif., office. Marciniak focuses on tax consulting and compliance services to private companies and high-net-worth individuals and Fisher provides assurance and consulting services to clients in the transportation industry. Kevin Villanueva, who leads the firm’s IT infrastructure and security practice, focusing on government, nonprofit, private entity, higher education and health care clients, in Seattle. John Hauser, who specializes in tax and advisory services for clients in the software, online and mobile media, entertainment, semiconductor, biotech, airline and consumer retail industries, in the Silicon Valley, Calif., office.
