Grant Thornton holds partnership board elections, Prager Metis' co-MP is elected to chair a charity's chapter, and other recent hires, promotions and personnel news from firms across the country.

CALIFORNIA

Tom Barry was appointed managing partner of Green Hasson Janks, Los Angeles, to succeed Leon Janks. The promotion of Barry, who has been a partner for 10 years and leads the waste management and environmental services niche practice, was part of a rigorous strategic planning process by the partner group that will also transition Leon into a continued, consulting role with the firm.

Brad Preber, national managing partner for business risk services, and Jim Wittmer, partner and East region practice leader for corporate strategic tax services, were re-elected to the partnership board of Grant Thornton, Chicago, and Bob Taylor, office managing partner in Cincinnati, was elected to the partnership board.

Victoria PItkin has joined the Quality Control Department of Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams Ltd., Chicago, while Jonathan Efrem Joseph has joined the Audit/Tax Department, and Kristin Harrigan and Jessica Wu have joined the Audit Department.

KENTUCKY

Nick Porter, manager at DMLO CPAs, Louisville, earned the Accredited in Business Valuation credential from the American Institute of CPAs.

MAINE
