Rob Schlener, assurance and advisory partner in the Irvine office, was appointed to assurance and advisory practice leader at SingerLewak, Los Angeles.


Tim LeMasters was named business development consultant at McGuire Sponsel, Indianapolis.


Jason Whitaker was hired as associate director of technology services at Dean Dorton Allen Ford, Lexington.

Nancy Hublar and John Britt, senior managers at Blue & Co., passed the Resident Assessment Coordinator Certified Program, the standard in resident assessment in the long-term care nursing profession.


Laura Soileau, director at Postlethwaite & Netterville, Baton Rouge, was elected to serve on the Institute of Internal Auditors’ North American Board, and as a North American director on the IIA’s Global Board of Directors.


Joel Shamon was named national audit leader at RSM; he is based in the Boston office.

Ray Barlow was named senior vice president of client accounting and tax outsourcing services at XCM Solutions, Quincy.


Matthew Brown, Nathan Shubert and Kate Siegrist were admitted as partners at Lurie, Minneapolis. Brown focuses on leading client engagements for individuals, privately held businesses, and trusts and estates; Shubert advises business owners and high-net worth investors working directly with CFOs and controllers on tax planning, consulting and compliance matters; and Siegrist oversees the firm’s SOC 1, 2 and 3 practice, security assessments, IT strategic planning services, IT risk assessments, IT governance assessments, business and systems transformations and controls audits.


Robert Canterbury was appointed senior advisor of the wealth management division at BST & Co., Albany.

Don Lipari was named national industry leader at RSM; he is based in the New York City office.


Jerry Doyle was named strategic advisor at Pease & Associates, Cleveland.


Four members of Smith Elliott Kearns & Co., York, were appointed or reappointed to four committees in membership association Allinial Global. Timothy Peters, member of the firm, was reappointed to the accounting and auditing committee; Nathaniel Fissel, tax manager, was reappointed to the tax committee; MaryBeth Hockenberry, marketing director, was reappointed to the business development/marketing committee; and Laura Stover, human resources manager, was appointed to the human resources committee. In other firm news, Cory Cuffley, supervisor, was appointed to the executive committee of the South Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs for a two-year term.


The Rhode Island Society of CPAs announced current board member officers and new board members appointed. Current Board officers elevated and members installed include: David Lucier, chair-elect; John Ayers, vice-chair; Marianne Caserta, treasurer; Erica Guatieri, secretary; Ken Andsager, past chair; and new members Gerald Benson, Dan Bonnette, Richard Botham, David Krekorian and Paul Ragosta. Rachael Oswald was promoted to chief human resources officer at Elliott Davis Decosimo, Greenville.


Toby Stansell was appointed managing director of the newly launched technology solutions group at Cherry Bekaert, Richmond.

Chuck McCabe, Peoples Tax founder and CEO, Glen Allen, was recognized by the Virginia Council of CEOs, who announced the establishment of an annual VACEO Charles E. McCabe Leadership Award in McCabe’s name, and made him the first recipient. McCabe was honored for his vision bringing the idea of a peer-to-peer group to Richmond and is the founding chairman of the Virginia Council of CEOs.


Ellen Trytek was named executive marketing and development officer at Wipfli, Milwaukee.

Chris Fenske, partner and asset management industry leader, received the Women of Distinction Award from the Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County, recognizing women who demonstrate continued excellence and innovation professionally and in the Waukesha County community. The award was bestowed at the WGF annual luncheon.
