PENNSYLVANIA

Four members of Smith Elliott Kearns & Co., York, were appointed or reappointed to four committees in membership association Allinial Global. Timothy Peters, member of the firm, was reappointed to the accounting and auditing committee; Nathaniel Fissel, tax manager, was reappointed to the tax committee; MaryBeth Hockenberry, marketing director, was reappointed to the business development/marketing committee; and Laura Stover, human resources manager, was appointed to the human resources committee. In other firm news, Cory Cuffley, supervisor, was appointed to the executive committee of the South Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs for a two-year term.

RHODE ISLAND

Toby Stansell was appointed managing director of the newly launched technology solutions group at Cherry Bekaert, Richmond.

Chuck McCabe, Peoples Tax founder and CEO, Glen Allen, was recognized by the Virginia Council of CEOs, who announced the establishment of an annual VACEO Charles E. McCabe Leadership Award in McCabe’s name, and made him the first recipient. McCabe was honored for his vision bringing the idea of a peer-to-peer group to Richmond and is the founding chairman of the Virginia Council of CEOs.
