COLORADO
Rachel Sawyer was appointed partner in the federal tax practice of TaxOps, Lakewood, and Alexander Korzhen joined the state and local tax practice of TaxOps, Englewood.
FLORIDA
Keith Alessi, an adjunct professor of law at Washington and Lee University and CEO Emeritus of the Westmoreland Coal Company, joined the board of directors at Happy Tax, Miami Beach.
MICHIGAN
Laurie Horvath, partner at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, Southfield, was named to the board of directors of Michigan’s Community Resources.
OKLAHOMA
Shaun Yeh was hired to head the southern regional office of Tax Point Advisors, Oklahoma City.
PENNSYLVANIA
Zachary Keenan, senior manager at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, Allentown, was named one of the 2017 Lehigh Valley Business’s Forty Under 40 honorees, recognizing the Greater Lehigh Valley’s most accomplished young professionals and culminating in an awards ceremony June 15.
TEXAS
Weaver welcomed six new team members as the result of a transaction with Charles River Associated: Jeff Matthews, partner-in-charge of forensics and litigation services, Dallas; Guler Ann Wiefling, partner, Houston; Stephen Howard, director, Houston; Veronique Chauveau, director, Dallas; and Melyana Melyana and Sunny Chu, senior managers.
