Prager Metis teams with Kearns Technology to launch "PM IT Services"

Top 100 firm Prager Metis announced it has partnered with Canadian IT company Kearns Technology to launch a new company, PM IT Services, a digital solutions provider delivering cybersecurity, cloud modernization and managed IT services across North America and Europe.  

Specifically, the company will provide: 

  • Managed IT services – Infrastructure and endpoint support with integrated systems administration for secure, stable operations;
  • Cybersecurity and compliance – Risk assessments and layered protection across endpoints, networks and cloud—aligned with compliance standards;
  • Cloud solutions – Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations, hybrid cloud deployments, and cost optimization;
  • IT strategy and innovation – Strategic planning, development and support for special initiatives and skunkworks projects.

The launch is a way for Prager Metis to partner with a noted tech company to deliver IT services, and a way for Kearns to expand its contact with the U.S. market.

K1x launches 1099 aggregator

Tax solutions provider K1x announced a major upgrade to its K1 Aggregator product, called Aggregator Plus, which adds automated Form 1099 data extraction to its patented, AI-powered tax platform. Built as an optional upgrade to K1 Aggregator, Aggregator Plus offers AI-powered data extraction for both Schedule K-1 and Form 1099; 100% digitization of key tax elements with executive summary views; aggregation and reporting across federal, state and international requirements; and integration into existing K1 Aggregator workflows. The upgrade does not require a separate implementation. Aggregator Plus is available to Early Access Program participants in June, with general availability in July.

Ledgre announces 'Ledgy' tax assistant for rental property owners

Ledgre, an AI-driven accounting platform built for landlords and real estate investors, announced the rollout of Ledgy, a new AI tax assistant that supports the tax and bookkeeping experience for rental property owners. Ledgy combines automation with CPA‑level tax knowledge to help landlords. It includes features such as real-time tax calculations (depreciation, amortization and more); automating expense categorization for rental properties; generating direct Schedule E reports; and bank and credit card integrations for automatic transaction import.

Expensify announced expanded international support

Travel, expense and corporate card solutions provider Expensify announced a sweeping expansion of international support across its platform. This includes expanded company card support with 10,000+ new banks around the world integrated for import and reconciliation; language localization beyond English and Spanish in New Expensify, with support for 10 more languages including French, German, Italian, and Japanese; Euro-based billing, so members can pay for their Expensify subscriptions in euros (in addition to USD, GBP, AUD and NZD); global reimbursement support to withdraw from business bank accounts in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR and AUD, and deposit into bank accounts in (almost) any country; and an Expensify Card beta, now live in the U.K. and EU, with Canadian support on the way

Foxit releases AI-Powered Research Agent

Document management and e-signature solutions provider Foxit announced the release of its new  AI-Powered Research Agent. The software uses AI to extract meaningful, structured insights from dense, complex research documents. The Research Agent will automatically break down each document into five clearly defined sections:

  1. Overview – A summary of the document's purpose and scope;
  2. Research methods – How the study was conducted;
  3. Research results – Key findings;
  4. Conclusions – What the results mean;
  5. Glossary – Definitions of technical terms.

The research agent is the latest part of a series of recent AI developments from Foxit including document translation, reading aloud, web searching, chat history, temporary chats and document views.

LeaseCrunch rebrands to 'Crunchafi'

Lease accounting solutions provider LeaseCrunch has rebranded and is now calling itself Crunchafi, which the company felt reflects a broader vision for the profession's future. The new name refers to "crunching numbers" with a forward-looking focus on accounting and financial intelligence, represented by the "afi" at the core of the new name. Built by CPAs for CPAs, Crunchafi reflects the company's continued mission to streamline complex accounting work.

Quinn launches from stealth to provide financial planning, advice with AI

A new company ,Quinn, announced its launch from stealth mode with $11 million in seed funding led by Viola Fintech. The platform uses AI so it can offer real-time bespoke advice to every client. The software produces AI-generated financial plans, and surfaces upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on that financial plan. It also automates core advisory tasks.  Quinn's platform is available as an embedded, co-branded or white-labeled experience.

The Genpact AP Suite consists of four product modules, each with a network of AI agents that proactively manage the nuances of accounts payable: AP Capture, AP Advance, AP Trace and AP Assist. These pre-trained, self-learning AI agents optimize the AP process: ingesting and validating invoices to enhance touchless processing, resolving exceptions, and continuously adapting to changes in supplier terms, tax rules and approval hierarchies.

Rillet's software automates core accounting tasks such as invoicing, monthly closes and financial reporting, while Wiss provides outsourced accounting support, financial reporting expertise, and tailored strategic advisory. … Top 25 firm Crowe announced its acceptance into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Agent Initiative. As part of this strategic collaboration, Crowe is developing the Crowe Lease Agent, an AI-powered automation tool designed to transform lease data processing for Microsoft Dynamics 365 customers.
