Small business accounting platform Xero announced what it called XeroOS, the platform's transition into a full-service financial stack that unifies accounting, payments, payroll and tax into one platform. Xero OS is said to represent a fundamental architectural shift, with agentic AI built into its core functionality, as opposed to simply adding a layer of AI over existing systems. The platform's various operations are coordinated by Xero's own AI model JAX, which is touted as "your AI CFO." Described further as "your always-on finance team," the AI can do functions such as automatically reconciling transactions to deliver an autonomous financial workflow that also includes actionable financial insights, such as current cash position or how expenses are trending, without leaving Xero.

Employee benefit plan audit automation platform Tieout announces launch

p19mtcmg8cmdsndfcv2c721mr29.jpg
Tieout announced its official launch as a platform that uses AI to automate employee benefit plan audits. In a single run, it ingests plan documents, census, payroll and trust data across PDFs, Excel, CSV files and screenshots. The system extracts every auditable provision with source citations; generates narrative test procedures; runs testing; and routes steps to the auditor for review and sign off. The auditor uploads the base plan document, amendments and adoption agreements, then sets the order of legal precedence themselves via drag and drop. Tieout then reads the documents across multiple passes using a combination of OpenAI, Google and Anthropic models. Prompts have been optimized for employee benefit audit language. The program extracts every provision required for an EBP audit: eligibility, compensation, vesting, contributions, loans, distributions and nondiscrimination tests. Every extracted provision links back to the document and page number it came from. The auditor can verify any source with one click. Audit procedures are then written in full narrative form versus a checklist. The firm uploads its own sampling methodology and the AI samples to those rules, or users upload an existing sample list and the platform tests against it, in contrast to a sampling approach. Finally, Tieout runs the tests, flags exceptions and generates the final testing workpaper. The auditor reviews the extracted data, corrects anything that needs correcting (citations go back to source throughout), and signs off on the workpaper.

Users can build, test and refine risk management environments through AI automation to generate new workflows and programs. Before an application is pushed to LogicGate's AI platform, a human must review a blueprint from Config Newton and agree to the guidelines and changes. After an application is developed, Config Newton generates a building summary. With that information in hand, human experts can review and prompt the agent to make additional changes.
