NYSSCPA Head Grumet Resigns

Lou Grumet, who served as executive director at the NewYork State Society of CPAs since 1998, has resigned citing health reasons.

The society named long-time insider Joanne Barry as itsnew executive director.

The changes will be effective June 1. The announcementwas sent out to members of the Society's leadership on Friday.

Throughout his tenure, Grumet had been the public personaof the NYSSCPA on a number of issues, including CPA mobility and improving thequality of school district audits.

Prior to coming aboard NYSSCPA, Grumet served asexecutive director, N.Y. State School Boards Association and executive directorat N.Y. State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council.
