2nd Story Finalizes TaxACT 2009

2nd Story Software has released the final versions of its TaxACT 2009 federal and state tax software products.

New features make it easier to start a 2009 return. New users can import key data from PDF copies of 2008 federal returns prepared by several competing tax prep packages, including TurboTax, TaxCut, TaxSlayer, CompleteTax, ezTax, FreeTaxUSA, eSmart Tax, On-Line Taxes, TaxBrain.com, ATX, Lacerte, ProSeries and NTS TaxVision.. Returning TaxACT users can import last year’s tax data into the Deluxe version.

A new TaxACT Stock Assistant, included in both the free and Deluxe versions, makes it easier to enter and review investment information. Deluxe users can also import stock transaction information from a CSV file.

A new option allows users to enter data directly into some forms, including W-2 and 1099 forms. Users can still receive their refund on a pre-paid debit card from TaxACT, but this year they can also choose to use all or part of their refund to purchase U.S. Savings Bonds in increments of $50.
