Cloud-based sales tax automation service provider Avalara has revamped its Accounting and Advisory Services Program to provide CPAs, professional accountants and advisory services professionals access to sales and use tax compliance content, educational resources and tools to expand their service offerings.
The new AASP features three levels of participation:
Accountants Resource Center – Accounting professionals have free, instant access to hands-on tools and educational resources to help them increase their sales tax knowledge and better assist their clients. A new Accountants Resource Center provides white papers written by industry experts, webinars conducted by seasoned sales and use tax professionals, along with access to sales tax calculation tools and forms libraries.
Referral Partners - Designed for accountants who want to actively engage to recommend Avalara’s sales and use tax services to meet clients’ sales tax automation needs.
Pro Partners – Avalara’s AASP Pro Partner level is a strategic and business level partnership, supporting firms that wish to expand their sales and use tax capabilities to better and more fully serve clients’ needs by using Avalara’s products for their clients.
Avalara is targeting firms of all sizes, ranging from sole practitioners to Top 100 firms and will likely issue key program member announcements as they occur. The company previously had an accountant program, but it admittedly was more focused around use and familiarity with the product, according to executive vice president of sales and marketing Pascal Van Dooren.
“Earlier on [the accountant program] was a single solution," he said. “It was more about getting to know us, but what we are building now is the go-to destination for tax automation information. Anything with people talking about it, you go here and get answers. This will not be just around a product. We are a small piece of the puzzle and we are more interested in giving accountants an opportunity to get all they can from this.”
