Charlie Sheen Pays $100,000 of Lindsay Lohan’s Tax Debt

Actor Charlie Sheen has reportedly paid $100,000 of actress Lindsay Lohan’s tax debts to the Internal Revenue Service after she told him about her tax liens while they were filming Scary Movie 5.

Lohan reportedly owes $233,904 in unpaid taxes for 2009 and 2010 to the IRS, and Sheen offered in September to pay off the first tax lien, according to TMZ. Lohan initially turned him down, but she later changed her mind.

Last week, her business manager received a check from Sheen, and they applied the money to pay off nearly half her tax bill (see IRS Files Tax Lien against Lindsay Lohan and IRS Slaps Lindsay Lohan with Another Tax Lien).

However, as Forbes reported, Lohan may now be liable for approximately $35,000 in income taxes on Sheen’s $100,000 payment to her. Alternatively, if Sheen declares the money to be a gift, he may have to pay gift tax on the amount if he hasn’t reached his exemption.
