Cougar Mountain Software remains PCI compliant with its latest update release for the companys Denali accounting software product line.
The PCI Security Standards Council has issued guidelines for all businesses that store, process and, or transmit credit and, or debit card data to be Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) compliant by July 1, 2010.
To ensure that Denali remains PCI compliant, Cougar Mountain Software has teamed up with Merchant Warehouse, which supplies MerchantWARE TransPort, a PA-DSS certified payment processing system. As a result, MerchantWARE TransPort now becomes the embedded technology that allows Denali to meet the mandated PCI software guidelines and remain in compliance.
MerchantWARE TransPort is a web-based application that works with Denalis accounts receivable, point of sale and order entry modules. MWT streamlines the card processing system, and assumes all of the duties of handling the sensitive payment data. When Denali users swipe their customers credit and debit cards, the cardholder data is collected, prepared and transmitted directly by MWT via secure Internet communications using Secure Sockets Layer technology to MerchantWAREs secure payment gateway. The data is then processed outside of Denali and the authorization returns automatically to the appropriate Denali module.
