Abila announced MIP Advance, a new cloud-based offering joining the nonprofit software provider’s true fund accounting MIP family of solutions.

MIP Advance presents a multi-dimensional and flexible chart of accounts with detailed coding and tracking of all financial activities and unlimited segments or dimensions.

The solution was built to improve CFOs’ strategic planning efforts by giving them access to customized analytics, while also providing enhanced data visualization in reports to organizations’ board members.

CFOs and non-financial professionals can view and drill down into this data via MIP Advance’s clean and customizable dashboard. The analytics tools and role-based dashboards enable users to find, report and track the data most essential to them, across the organization.

“It’s a great way to engage them, to ask further questions, to showcase their own expertise and experience, and it’s a great opportunity with your boards,” explained Dan Murphy, product manager at Abila. “At the bottom level you document the transaction information and then arrange the data within the dashboard. It’s not only for the seasoned user but to ask the questions you need to ask for decision-making—it’s engaging for the nonfinancial decision-making person, and getting the board engaged is so powerful.”

Built in the cloud, MIP Advanced is also available anytime, anywhere with seamless upgrades. It also features secure, open APIs to integrate with other Abila solutions like Abila Elevate and Abila Fundraising, as well as other fundraising products.

“For nonprofit organizations, true fund accounting is the only real option to ensure the integrity of their systems and the financial accountability boards and constituents expect,” stated Abila CEO Krista Endsley. “As nonprofits, associations, and municipalities grow, the nature and complexity of their accounting changes. They need a true fund accounting solution that will provide the necessary flexibility to properly manage their resources and mission. Abila MIP Advance is taking nonprofit financial management to new levels.”

MIP Advance customers can access other add-on applications and accounting consultants in Abila’s online partner marketplace.

The solution is hosted by managed cloud company Rackspace, chosen for its strong security features.

“We take security very seriously,” stated John Engates, CTO of Rackspace. “We host many financial institutions through our managed cloud and have implemented robust security features to help our customers mitigate security risks. This provides Abila’s customers using MIP Advance with a higher degree of confidence when it comes to the security of the underlying data center and infrastructure.”
