Accountants' Confidence Remains on Track

The May edition of Accounting Today's Accountants Confidence index continued the positive trend that began in April, showing positive expectations for economic growth in the short- and mid-term.

Created in partnership with ADP, the ACI is a monthly economic indicator that leverages the insights of accountants into the strength and prospects of businesses in the U.S.

Responding to a survey taken in April, the panelists of our Executive Research Council predicted a slight expansion for the small, midsized and large business clients over the next three months, and a higher likelihood of growth over the next sixth. They predicted the greatest growth over both periods for their own firms, and the weakest for the U.S. economy as a whole.

Overall, though, the aggregated and weighted results indicted that they expect slight growth in the next three months, growing stronger over the next sixth.

The panelists also shared which social media outlets their firms are engaged with, and which they plan to explore. The details, as well as all of the figures for this month's ACI, are available here.
