Accounting Firm Merges with Design Firm

In an unusual move, Sikich LLP has merged with Icon Digital Design & Illustration, a marketing and design company, and named two of Icon’s partners as partners in the accounting firm.

The merger took effect Dec. 1. Icon will operate under the Sikich name, but its office will remain in Naperville, Ill.

"In today's economy it’s more important than ever for companies to invest in marketing," said Sikich CEO Jim Sikich in a statement. "This merger will enable us to expand the depth and breadth of marketing services we offer to our clients.”

Icon partners Mike Stout and Scott Kolbe will join Sikich as partners and the seven-member Icon staff will remain at the Naperville office. Icon specializes in graphic design, Web, video and marketing services for a variety of business and nonprofit organizations.

“Sikich has welcomed Icon with the same personable family approach we have enjoyed with our clients for the past 14 years,” said Kolbe.

The partners at Icon are in the process of contacting clients to inform them of the change and answer questions they may have about the transition or about Sikich.

Sikich has also merged with two small accounting firms in the past two months, Sleeper Disbrow Morrison Tarro & Lively and Frederick M. Marcus & Co. Sikich ranked 70th on Accounting Today’s 2009 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $42 million in revenue.
