The accounting industry ranks No. 1 in terms of net profit margin in a list of private industries compiled by Sageworks, a company that provides financial analysis tools and information for privately held companies.
The accounting industry has been ranked No. 1 in private industries over the past 10 years and is still No. 1 as of the last 12 months, since May 2009, according to Sageworks.
The companys list of this years top 10 industries (see below) includes only service industries; however, the bank industry fell off the list over the past 12 months to below number 20.
