Accounting software startup Silverfin raises $4.5M in Series A funding

Silverfin, which provides a platform it calls “connected accounting,” has raised £3.7 million ($4.5 million U.S.) to fund its expansion into the United Kingdom. The company already has offices in both Gent, Belgium (headquarters) and London.

Silverfin’s “connected accounting” platform pulls data from third party accounting software and other sources to provide businesses a view of all their financial data in one place. The company has different versions geared towards finance departments, small to medium accounting firms, and large accounting firms. The platform, according to co-founder Tim Vandecasteele, is designed to be "elegant and intuitive."

In addition to expanding into London, the company, which was founded in 2013, plans to use the Series A funds to accelerate product development and add additional integrations with third party software.
