Adaptive Insights introduces Business Planning Cloud
Adaptive Insights has introduced the Adaptive Insights Business Planning Cloud with the goal of better organizing financial planning across the organization outside of just the finance department. This update of Adaptive's platform is designed to help employees collaborate better and gain business insights.
The business planning cloud is supported by a “powerful, in-memory technology platform that enables functional, company-wide business planning and built-in analytics at very large scale,” according to the company. It is the next generation of the Adaptive Insights’ cloud planning platform, enabling functional planning beyond finance and a new purpose-built solution for sales.
Alongside this release, Adaptive Insights is also offering Adaptive Insights for Sales, designed to enable sales team planning and decision making.
“This release extends our planning functionality, which has been previously targeted at finance users, to users outside finance,” Adaptive Insights’ CEO Tom Bogan told Accounting Today. “It provides functional planning specifically targeted at people who are doing sales planning, including quota capacity territory planning, which is an essential part of a company’s business plan. We’ll continue to have finance and accounting as our core constituency — even when people in other parts of the organization are doing their business planning, it’s still coordinated by the finance team. We see this as extending that functionality to other parts of the organization, but ultimately always orchestrated by the finance team.”
Like the company's previous offering, the business planning cloud integrates with several major finance and accounting software platforms, and features open APIs to work with customer integration infrastructures.
