ADP RUN now available within QBO

QuickBooks Online users can now access RUN Powered by ADP directly from within QBO. Payroll software integration has become key for accountants who provide value-added services, like payroll, to their clients.

The integration runs two ways, where accountants can access their QBO accounting data from within RUN, and vice versa. Mapping and integration for RUN has also been improved for QuickBooks Desktop users, ADP reports.

A statement from ADP said this deeper integration provides a “simpler, more accurate general ledger interface mapping experience,” therefore “eliminating the need for offline customer service assistance to activate and manually set up the integration.” According to the company, once set up, the need to manually generate general ledger files and download data for each pay period is eliminated, making it is easy to set up and complete in a true do-it-yourself fashion. This may be a move to remove the cost of certain lines of customer support. However, ADP and Intuit have made a concerted effort, based on customer data, to make the new integration as easy to use as possible.

"What we’ve seen is that over 70 percent of users between QBO and ADP are facilitating setup of this integration for themselves without having to connect with a service rep," Erron Stark, division vice president of channel sales for ADP, said. "We offer tutorials via both RUN and Accountant Connect to help guide them through how to do it, but we also offer world class service and a 24-7 service model to help our clients and accountants; and we also dedicate service hotlines to them to help navigate any nuances of the setup for which they would want clarification."

“Accountants are increasingly transitioning into the role of strategic business advisor,” stated Joe DeSilva, senior vice president of small business services at ADP. “This integration gives back much-needed time that accountants can use to re-invest in their broader advisory services.”

“This new platform integration delivers on that commitment by helping our joint customers be more efficient and save time so they can focus more on strategic business decisions that help them grow and prosper,” added Ariege Misherghi, accountant leader at Intuit.
