New York (Oct. 15, 2003) -- The American Institute of CPAs and Ajilon Finance, a specialty accounting and finance staffing firm, have announced the three winners of the 2003 AICPA Business and Industry Hall of Fame.

The annual award honors CPAs who “provide insight and vision to their respective organizations, understand all facets of their enterprise, and demonstrate the leadership, commitment and strategic ability necessary to help their organizations meet the challenges of today’s dynamic market conditions,” according to the Institute.

The three winners are: Glen M. Elias, corporate controller of CH2M HILL, Englewood, Colo.; Keith L. Jones, controller of St. Joe Timberland Company, Port St. Joe, Fla.; and Hubert C. Maddy, III, President and chief executive of Summit Financial Group based in Moorefield, W.V.

Elias was singled out for leading his company through an innovative international financial systems conversion. Elias received a BA in Accounting from William Paterson University and an MBA from the University of Denver.

Jones earned his spot on the list by successfully building the accounting function from the ground up, and is now responsible for planning, budgeting, human resources and risk management in addition to financial accounting and reporting. Jones received the Florida Institute of CPAs Outstanding Chairman’s award during his tenure as chair in 2001/02 and is a graduate of Florida State University.

Through Maddy’s leadership, Summit Financial Group group has gone from a one-bank company with $80 million in assets to a multi-bank holding company with assets of over $716 million. Maddy graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree from Concord College, Athens, W.V.

“Ajilon Finance is proud to help recognize the achievements of these outstanding honorees,” said Neil Lebovits, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ajilon Finance. “They embody the fundamental values of this prestigious award – vision, knowledge, integrity, and commitment – as well as the characteristics necessary to be a successful business leader in today’s global marketplace.”
