AICPA names 2021-2022 Legacy Scholars

The American Institute of CPAs granted $766,000 in academic scholarships to 150 students as part of its AICPA Legacy Scholars program.

The annual program helps fund students' journeys to becoming CPAs through a variety of scholarships. Funded by the AICPA, the AICPA Foundation and partners, the Legacy Scholars program consists of six scholarships awarding $3,000 to $10,000 per student.

“The AICPA is committed to fostering the next generation of CPAs," said Mike Decker, vice president of CPA examination and pipeline at the AICPA and CIMA, in a statement. "The Legacy Scholars program helps assure we’re attracting students from diverse backgrounds to meet the evolving needs of the accounting profession. The Legacy Scholars program identifies talented accounting students and provides them financial assistance, resources and guidance to help them begin their career.
