AICPA Releases Audit and Accounting Guides

The American Institute of CPAs has begun shipping its 2007 AICPA Audit and Accounting Guides, updated for the risk assessment standards issued by the Auditing Standards Board.

The guides include application guidance on the new requirements for auditors, including analytical procedures and the auditing of revenue in certain industries, such as agricultural producers and cooperatives, not-for-profits, health care organizations and construction contractors.

Also available is the AICPA's audit guide on "Assessing and Responding to Audit Risk in a Financial Statement Audit." The AICPA plans to release guidance on Nov. 21 for personal financial statements, and on Dec. 21 for derivative instruments, hedging activities and investments in securities.

The guides cost $49 to $69 for AICPA members, and $61.25 to $86.25 for nonmembers. For more information, go to www.cpa2biz.com.
