AICPA to Lead SBA’s Year-End Tax-Planning Chat

Edward S. Karl, vice president of taxation for the American Institute of CPAs, will host the U.S. Small Business Administration’s year-end tax-planning Web chat on Thursday.

During the session, “Year-end Tax Essentials for Small Business Owners,” Karl will answer questions from participants about the importance of year-end tax preparation and planning for small business owners.  The AICPA and the SBA signed a strategic alliance agreement in 2007 giving CPAs greater access to the SBA’s programs and nationwide network. The alliance is intended to help the SBA market and deliver its products and services through the AICPA’s network of 44,000 accounting firms nationwide.

The SBA’s series of Web chats offer business owners direct, real-time access to business experts via questions submitted online in advance and during the session, with immediate online answers.

The Web chat is scheduled to take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 9. Participants can join the live Web chat by going online to www.sba.gov, and clicking “Online Business Chat.”

Transcripts of the chats are archived on the SBA Web site at http://www.sba.gov/tools/monthlywebchat/index.html.
