Alight Planning Debuts Financial Planning Software

Alight Planning introduced financial planning and analysis software with collaborative budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting features.

The software, also called Alight Planning, includes modeling tools that allow users to import data from outside financial databases into the system. Companies can do rolling forecasts of midyear budgets. Automated algorithms help finance staff analyze data.

"You can dig in and understand what's happening," said Alight CEO Rand Heer. "You can click and analyze your top 10 assumptions and drivers in your financial plan."

He said the company built the software to take advantage of "driver-based planning." Assumptions about the business drive the plan, such as operational assumptions about transactional levels and deficiency levels. Pricing for Alight Planning starts at $6,000 for a single-user system.
