Anton Collins Mitchell Merges in Doty, Lyle and Jones

Anton Collins Mitchell LLP has combined practices with Doty, Lyle and Jones LLC, expanding Denver-based ACM’s footprint in Colorado to Boulder.

“While ACM has been providing services to clients in the Boulder area for the past decade, the addition of our new Boulder office and the individuals from the DLJ firm is a significant strategic step forward in our ability to provide service more quickly and effectively for those clients,” said managing partner Gary Mitchell in a statement. “ACM brings a sophisticated depth of service and client-centric focus into the Boulder marketplace which we see as part of a larger value proposition.”

He added that DLJ partners Rick Doty and Bill Jones have built a well-respected practice and will be joining ACM as partners, when the combination of the firms takes effect on January 1. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The staff in the Boulder office will remain the same and will continue to be led by Doty and Jones, who have been leading the firm for 20 years. They will be bringing over 1,500 clients to ACM.

ACM will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next July. The firm has grown from three partners and 24 employees to 17 partners and directors, and over 100 employees, since 2002.

ACM had done previous mergers, including one last year, when it opened an office in Greeley, Colo. in October 2010 by combining with Watkins & Schommer, Inc.

ACM founding partner Gregory Anton now serves as chairman of the American Institute of CPAs (see New AICPA Chair Anton Plans to Help Fix Government Financial Woes).

The firm’s services include benefit plan audits, tax planning and consulting, estate planning, corporate assurance services and business consulting.
