Aplos acquires Portalbuzz

Aplos Software, which makes online nonprofit accounting software, has acquired Portalbuzz, a member management software company. The merged company will operate under the Aplos name.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Portalbuzz adds a web builder, member invoicing, event registration, and a member portal for managing groups and volunteer sign-ups to Aplos’ product portfolio. The merged set of solutions will still target the needs of nonprofit organizations, Aplos officials stated.

Portalbuzz was founded in 2005, and Aplos 2009. Aplos announced Series A funding of $4 million last year.

Aplos reported that within the next few months, the company will launch new product features and integrations between it and Portalbuzz’s software. Portalbuzz users already have access to Aplos’ free customer support, which is available during business hours.

“We love what Portalbuzz has been doing and believe that together we will really make easier the lives of people who are working in a nonprofit,” stated Tim Goetz, CEO of Aplos. “Nonprofits want a one-stop solution that can flexibly meet their needs, and we think with the features of both Portalbuzz and Aplos in one place, we can be that solution for them.”
