Aplos Software, SaaS solutions provider that specializes in the nonprofit sector, announced Wednesday that it raised $2 million in new financing.
The funding, which brings the California-based startup’s total to $3.4 million, will be used to expand the Aplos nonprofit software suite and open it to API integration, as well as accelerate the development schedule for new features in its existing nonprofit accounting and donor management software.
The planned API will integrate with other popular web-based software used by churches and nonprofits.
While Aplos has served more than 10,000 organizations with its nonprofit suite since the release of its web-based software in 2011, the company says it plans to reach the nation’s 1.5 million small and midsized nonprofits that rely on a combination of small business and nonprofit desktop software.
“Nonprofits use a mix of online and desktop business software that is not made for their unique needs,” stated Aplos Software co-founder Tim Goetz. “This means time is wasted with complicated work-arounds and duplicating entries in multiple systems. Aplos is leading the nonprofit software sector into SaaS so nonprofits have one simple, integrated software designed specifically for their management needs.”
Aplos has also used recent financing to expand support and marketing teams in response to increased opportunities from church denominations, large nonprofit organizations, and professional nonprofit accountants.
