App of the Week: GoodReader

GoodReader is a great reminder of the advantages digital text has over its analog equivalent.

The PDF reader app offers a range of ways to interact with PDF and TXT files, manuals, large books and magazines. It begins with a speedy PDF reading engine and extends to features like PDF annotations, access to servers to store data, and auto sync with remote servers.

Those PDF annotations can be made in the form of typewriter text boxes, sticky notes, lines, arrows and even freehand drawings, should the text so inspire you.

A recent upgrade added new tools like PDF page management, a PDF page slider that shows page previews and a collapsible tool area on the main screen. Most importantly, though, GoodReader added back its iCloud functionality that a previous update had removed.

GoodReader is available for iOS
