App of the Week: Surpriise

Just in time for the season of giving, social gaming company Vouchr’s newly launched app Surpriise offers a giving platform for a variety of gifts, experiences and services that could come in handy for that next round of employee appreciation.

Processing Content

Surpriise goes beyond mere gift cards, enabling users to give a gift of their choosing, in real-time, for any local merchant in the world where a product, service or experience can be purchased. The app specifically leverages social media to add to the dimensions of recommendations and geolocation so that one person’s trending meal at a hot spot in one city can become your next gift for a deserving employee. And if the gift recipient is checked in somewhere on social media, Surpriise alerts you so a meal or drink can be sent to them while they’re there.

In addition to its game-like experience, Surpriise also uses PayPal’s Person-2-Person payments with plans to add other payment methods like Square, Apple Pay, Venmo and Google Wallet.

Surpriise is available for iOS and Android.
