Avalara announced the appointment of David van Toor as general manager of the cloud-based tax compliance solutions provider’s EMEA operations.
The hiring supports Avalara’s recent global expansion, having opened new offices in the U.K. and Belgium and completed a number of acquisitions, including of Belgium-based VAT Applications NV and the tax content and technology for Brazil from
In his role, Van Toor will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of Avalara’s European internal operations and customer experience strategies, as well as oversee Avalara’s European-focused product marketing and management. Van Toor will also manage the integration of acquired talent and technology into the Avalara product suite.
Van Toor previously held the positions of vice president and the managing director of Australasian operations at Epicor Software and senior vice president general manager of the CRM division at Sage North America.
