Steven Bokiess has joined BDO USA LLP as a tax partner in the firm’s financial services practice.
Bokiess will work in the firm’s New York office and provide advisory services to financial clients on a broad range of initiatives, including financial products, partnership allocation methodologies and transfer pricing and international planning.
“Steven’s twenty plus years of experience in consulting to a wide variety of asset management clients, including private equity funds, investment advisors, broker/dealers and mutual funds, will serve as a valuable asset to the firm,” Arthur Lund BDO’s managing partner of the Financial Services Group said in a statement.
Prior to BDO, Bokiess worked as a non-equity partner in the hedge fund practice at a Big 4 accounting firm. According to Bokiess’ LinkedIn profile, he worked at Ernst & Young and KPMG throughout his career.
Bokiess instructs asset management tax courses in continuing professional education programs, and he also presents at various investment partnership seminars. He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society. He earned a Master of Science in Taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at DePaul University.
