BDO Elects 3 Board Members

BDO USA LLP said Tuesday that Matthew Becker, Stephanie Giammarco and Christopher Orella have each been elected to three-year terms on the firm’s board of directors. 

Giammarco and Orella are new directors, while Becker, who serves as the chairperson of the board, was re-elected to a new term of service. The changes are effective November 1.

“I want to welcome Stephanie and Chris to the board and look forward to the valuable insight they will bring to the process,” said BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson in a statement. “Matt has already made valuable contributions in his previous board service and we are pleased that he will continue to do so in the future. As our firm continues to grow, it is essential to have good governance in place. I believe the partners of BDO USA have shown excellent judgment in electing these very qualified individuals to represent them on the board of directors.”

[IMGCAP(1)]Becker is a partner and chairperson of the board of directors of BDO USA. Based in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Matt serves as the tax managing partner for BDO’s Central Region and managing partner of the firm's National Tax Office. He provides tax advisory services to businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, construction and service industries, as well as high net worth individuals and families. A member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs, he is a graduate of Michigan State University.

[IMGCAP(2)]Giammarco is a partner and national practice leader of BDO Consulting’s Forensic Technology Services practice. Based in New York, she has more than 20 years of experience providing litigation and consulting services to organizations and their counsel, including data analytics, digital forensics and e-discovery services related to domestic and international litigation and investigative matters. She has worked on some of the largest financial frauds to date, been deposed as a Rule 30(b)6 e-discovery witness, and has provided testimony on the calculation of damages in contract disputes. A member of the AICPA, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists, Stephanie received her B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University and her M.S. in Criminology (Corporate Crime) from the University of Maryland.

[IMGCAP(3)]Orella is a partner and the office managing partner for assurance in New York, as well as the co-leader of the National Health Care Industry Group. He is one of the founding partners of the greater New York Healthcare, Nonprofit and Insurance practice, which has grown from 10 individuals in 1993, to approximately 100 individuals today. The group specializes in many sub-segments of the healthcare, nonprofit and insurance industries. A member of the American Institute of CPAs, Healthcare Financial Managers Association and the New York State Society of CPAs, he received his B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.
