BDO names global CEO, reaffirms independence

BDO announced its decision to remain independent of equity investments, plans to accelerate consolidation of member firms and global leadership changes.

"Choosing independence is a conscious decision made from a position of strength," BDO global CEO Pat Kramer said in a statement. "This approach ensures that we remain in control of our destiny while continuing to build a future-proof organization. This is just one part of the journey. Consolidation among member firms and aligning operations across borders will strengthen our global reach, enhance quality, and deliver greater value for our clients and our people worldwide."

The Top 10 Firm also announced several senior leadership changes, including the appointment of Trond-Morten Lindberg as incoming global CEO. Lindberg currently serves as chief strategy and operations officer, and will succeed Kramer in the role.

(Berson is also stepping down from his role as CEO of BDO USA as he  retires, and Matt Becker will succeed him, effective July 1, 2026.) Dave Garvey has been appointed the next chief executive partner of BDO Australia, and BDO Germany's Jens Freiberg is joining the global board, succeeding Holger Otte, who is retiring.
