Best to Launch Time/Billing Software for Small Businesses, Indies

Norcross, Ga. (Feb. 19, 2003) -- Best Software is readying the launch of Timeslips for Sole Practitioners, a time and billing product specifically designed for businesses that only have one or two people who perform billable tasks. The name may sound familiar to anyone who has used or seen Best Software’s Timeslips software over the past 18 years and they would not be wrong. The main differences between the two are in their specific functionality and the price, which again are targeted more towards small and individual business owners.

"We have had numerous requests over time from people who wanted a smaller, scaled down version of Timeslips for their core billing, many of whom are lawyers and accountants," said Mike Savory, product manager for Timeslips. "This product competes on price and functionality with the full-version product any of our competitors."

At $199.99, the new scaled down product has an accounts receivable function and can print bills and statements, produce 86 reports (versus 125 in the standard version), reprint old bills, perform text searches, and prepare custom bills. Users wishing to add more timekeepers and overall functionality can upgrade to the "standard version" for an extra $200. Beginning in March, users can purchase Timeslips for Sole Practitioners directly or at Microcenter, Staples, Office Depot and other like retailers.
