Bill.com Hires Sheela Zemlin as SVP of Sales

Bill.com has hired Sheela Zemlin as senior vice president of sales and customer success.

In this role, Zemlin will work to scale all of the company’s sales channels, including inside sales for small businesses and direct sales for mid-market businesses and accountants.

With more than 15 years of experience in sales, business development and corporate strategy in the technology industry, Zemlin most recently served as vice president of global sales and business operations for Lithium Technologies. Prior to that, Zemlin held senior leadership positions in sales, general management, corporate strategy and business development with Taleo, Oracle, LexisNexis and Intuit. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

“The consumerization of business payments is not a fad – it’s the future,” Zemlin stated. “Small and medium-sized businesses everywhere are automating their back office processes and transitioning to digital payments. I couldn’t be more excited to join Bill.com and help bring businesses nationwide onto the platform.”

Zemlin’s arrival at Bill.com comes shortly after the business payment solution provider raised $50 million. The funding will continue to expand the team, as well as help scale the Bill.com network.

“Bill.com is growing at a remarkable pace and we are thrilled to have Sheela join our leadership team as we continue to bring magically simple business payments to businesses nationwide,” stated René Lacerte, Bill.com founder and CEO. “Today’s small businesses lack the proper tools to manage their A/P and A/R processes, and we see a huge opportunity to help SMBs introduce new levels of efficiency to their back-office operations by automating the processes from end to end.”
