BKD Annoints Next CEO

Top 10 Firm BKD LLP announced that regional managing partner Ted Dickman will be its next CEO, effective June 1.

Dickman will succeed current CEO Neal Spencer, who announced that in February that he would be stepping down in June. (See BKD CEO Neal Spencer Plans to Step Down.

BKD's Governing Board recommended Dickman for the position, and the decision was ratified by the firm's 250 partners.

After starting his accounting career with the firm in 1983, Dickman was named a partner in 1991, and over the past four years has served as regional managing partner of the firm's East Region, coordinating operations in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, as well as serving on the Governing Board. He holds a BS in Accounting from Indiana University.

"I'm both humbled and excited to be chosen to continue leading our firm forward into a dynamically changing world," Dickman said. "I hope to build upon the initiatives and industry leadership the firm has developed while also finding additional opportunities for growth."

During Spencer's five years in office, BKD expanded into several markets through acquistion, adding offices in Texas and Mississippi.
