Springfield, Mo. (Feb. 18, 2004) -- BKD Technologies, a division of top-ranked CPA firm BKD LLP, has expanded its services to include compliance services for health care companies that need to meet Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements through an alliance with security risk-assessment software developer RiskWatch.
As part of the alliance, BKD Technologies will resell RiskWatch’s HIPAA-Watch for Security software, which is customized for the HIPAA final security rule. The software is designed to simplify the risk-assessment process and create risk-assessment reports including return on investment, cost-benefit analysis, and existing weaknesses and recommended safeguards.
BKD Technologies and RiskWatch will also offer federal information security best practices. Users can choose the areas to include in the assessment. BKD’s health care group will help support the overall effort.
RiskWatch products are in use by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Labor.
