Block Intros Mobile Tool for Tracking Tax Refunds

H&R Block has teamed up with the mobile personal finance service Pageonce to provide a tool that allows do-it-yourself filers to track the status of their tax refunds from a mobile device.

H&R Block's Tax Center is integrated into the Pageonce mobile app and provides DIY filers with timely updates of the status of their tax return, and more importantly, their federal and state tax refunds. Users enter their H&R Block At Home username and password in the Pageonce mobile app, and their information is automatically populated into the Tax Center so they can see when their refund will arrive.

The IRS offers a similar service on its Web site, but the information isn't available until 72 hours after a taxpayer e-files their return and then the site information is only updated on a weekly basis, according to Jason Houseworth, senior vice president of digital solutions for H&R Block.

The IRS recently introduced a mobile version of the service for iPhones and Android devices (see IRS Launches App for iPhones and Droids).

The Pageonce Money & Bills application is available for free download at iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 app stores.
