Bloomberg has introduced a Tax Practice Center to complement its tax law research service.
The Tax Practice Center works with Bloomberg Law, the financial media giant’s legal and business intelligence research system. The Tax Practice Center includes analysis, commentary, practice tools, news, case law and other primary sources, to give tax attorneys and practitioners a comprehensive understanding of critical issues in tax law.
The system offers information on the latest changes to the tax code and is designed to streamline the research process for tax practitioners who need to advise their business and individual clients. The Tax Practice Center provides unlimited access to Bloomberg BNA’s Daily Tax Report, along with a library of topical portfolios containing guidance written by practitioners and academics. All Bloomberg Law users will now have access to the Tax Practice Center as part of their subscription.
“This is a critical time for tax attorneys as the tax implications of new legislation are great, and we could see in 2013 the first overhaul of the tax code since 1986,” said Bloomberg Law CEO Greg McCaffery in a statement. “The Tax Practice Center on Bloomberg Law provides tax professionals with an enhanced suite of research tools and relevant information to help them address these challenges, and ultimately provide their clients with well-informed solutions to even the most complex tax issues.”
The Tax Practice Center features an enhanced version of the Internal Revenue Code (featuring Bloomberg BNA editors’ notes), practice tools and working papers. Subscribers can also access other sets of content, such as dockets, analysis and treatises, including treatises from the Practising Law Institute.
Features include the ability to research related primary and secondary sources. Secondary sources from BNA—including Portfolios and other analysis—link to primary resources, including the Internal Revenue Code, public laws and Treasury regulations. Practitioners can find important documents using citation and Portfolio numbers with “Go To” search functionality. DealMaker Document Search offers model tax agreements and clauses. Practitioners can also access tax forms from the IRS through the system.
