Blum Shapiro Acquires Fairfield, Conn. Firm

Regional CPA and business advisory firm Blum Shapiro will merge in the Fairfield, Conn.-based firm of Leask & Leask.Terms were not disclosed.

Leask's four partners and 16 staff will be integrated with Blum's staff of 170, and going forward the firm will do business under the brand Blum Shapiro. Leask will continue to service its 900 existing clients, as well as those of Blum Shapiro's, at the firm's newly relocated office in Southport, Conn., effective in January.

Leask managing partner Mary Hoyt will head that office as partner-in-charge, along with Blum Shapiro chairman David Rosenthal.

Blum Shapiro ranked No. 99 on Accounting Today's Top 100 Firms roster with annual revenues of $20.3 million.
