BNA Offers Premier State Tax Library

BNA has introduced an online tax research library with information on the latest state sales and use tax information.

The company’s Premier State Tax Library includes a new Sales & Use Tax Navigator, State Tax Chart Builder, State Tax Rate Finder, and Sales & Use Tax Monitor. The library also includes the company’s portfolios of state tax research, a weekly state tax report, and a new daily sales and use tax report.

In addition, the company has organized its Corporate Income Tax Portfolios by state and has a State Tax Research Navigator that can be navigated by state or topic. BNA also has added a Corporate Income Tax Builder feature that lets users select their own states and charts for examination.

“The chart can be saved and edited, and exported to an Excel file,” said BNA Tax & Accounting executive editor George Farrah.

Senior state tax law editor Steven Roll noted that the BNA portfolios in the system take an explanatory approach and go beyond summarization, which is necessary for dealing with the vagaries of the different state systems. “State tax law is like the Wild West,” he said.

Other features include trending analysis, forms and tables. Users can have the latest sales and use tax rates e-mailed to them, and they can search by zip code, state or county for the latest rates.
