[IMGCAP(1)]CPA firms have historically had mixed success providing technology consulting services as one of their offerings and over the past decade in particular we have seen renewed interest in adding these services -- accompanied by mixed results. 

Some firms do succeed in growing or buying these practices and in this article I would like to summarize some of the reasons I see for these successes and failures.
