Cablevision Accounting Probe Widens

Bethpage, N.Y. (Nov. 12, 2003) -- The investigation into accounting irregularities at diversified media conglomerate Cablevision has expanded to include its Madison Square Garden holdings and several other units.

Cablevision said it would restate its financials for the first nine months of the year in order to reflect some $15 million in expenses that were improperly posted in 2002 but should have been reported in 2003. The company also is mulling whether to restate its results from 2000 through 2002.

In June, Cablevision canned 14 executives within its AMC and WE channels, when accounting irregularities surfaced.
