Calcbench Site Offers Access to Public Corporate Financial XBRL Data

XBRL-based collaborative data product provider Calcbench has launched Calcbench.com, an online system designed for professional users to quickly access and work with public corporate financial data in Extensible Business Reporting Language format.

Aimed at accountants, investors, lawyers, analysts and journalists, Calcbench.com lets users instantly retrieve numerical data in statement form, and search text disclosures. Once in the online workspace, they can compare data across time periods, companies and industries. Users can also input their own notes or calculations, save their work for later, and share it with workgroups or the community as a whole.

“So much great work is taking place to upload XBRL data, and yet so few people are making use of the data once it’s there,” said Calcbench co-founder Pranav Ghai. “We give people a very useful, convenient window to that information. Thanks to Calcbench and XBRL, this time can be spent analyzing, rather than just searching for data.”
