CALCPA CEO Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Redwood City, Calif. (April 29, 2002) -- The Northern California Society of Association Executives has named California Society of CPAs chief executive Susan B. Waters, CAE, as its Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

Waters has served as chief executive officer of the 28,000-member CALCPA Society since July 2000. She previously served as executive director of the Massachusetts Bar Association, executive director of the Prince George's County (MD) Medical Society, and executive director of the San Francisco Medical Society.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of NCSAE’s highest honors given only in years in which there is a candidate who stands above all others in his/her overall career accomplishments and contributions to the profession of association management. The last award was presented in 1996. The award is reserved for those who have risen to the highest ranks of the association management profession and who most represent the standards, ethics and practices to which professionals in this field aspire, according to the NCSAE.

The Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to Waters at NCSAE's annual business meeting on April 30, 2002 at The Washington Inn, Oakland, CA. NCSAE is a non-profit organization of executives who manage locally headquartered trade and professional associations.
