CalCPA Plans to Move Headquarters

The California Society of CPAs plans to move its headquarters from San Mateo to Burlingame.

CalCPA said Thursday it has purchased a building in Burlingame adjacent to the Bayshore Freeway on U.S. 101.

The new building, at 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, is currently occupied by the American Heart Association, which will become a tenant of CalCPA. The building is being refurbished before the move takes place.

In addition to CalCPA, the new headquarters will house the CalCPA Education Foundation, a provider of continuing professional education programs for CPAs.

"We are excited about moving to Burlingame," said CalCPA chair Tim Good in a statement. "The building is easy to access for both our members and our staff. And because drivers can easily see our logo and name on the building from the freeway, it will be a great way to promote CalCPA. We studied several facilities in the area before selecting the Gilbreth Road location for our new headquarters. We think it provides great advantages both in terms of location and in providing services to our members. It will feature a classroom with up-to-date technologies that will enable us to improve our continuing professional education offerings, especially to those CPAs taking advantage of our numerous webcasts."

CalCPA has occupied its current offices in San Mateo since January 2011
