Carlin, Charron & Rosen Expands into Conn.

Worcester, Mass. (Oct. 9, 2002) -- Regional powerhouse Carlin, Charron & Rosen, based here, has expanded into Connecticut with the merger of DiSanto Bertoline & Co. into its fold.

The merger expands Top 100-ranked CCR's staff to nearly 250 partners and employees throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Under the terms of the deal, effective Oct. 16, DiSanto Bertoline & Company's Glastonbury and Groton offices will become part of Carlin, Charron & Rosen's regional network, which includes corporate offices in Worcester, Boston, and Newton, Mass., and Providence, R.I., as well as the resources of six affiliate firms.

"We're noticing a trend of larger companies seeking assistance from a regional accounting firm - rather than a national player - and this move positions us well as the firm of choice in New England," said CCR managing partner Bruce Carlin. Carlin said the move enhances the firm's audit practice and broadens its client base of privately held, family-owned businesses to include large, publicly traded corporations.
