CBH Acquires Northern Virginia Firm

Cherry, Bekaert & Holland LLP, a regional accounting and consulting firm headquartered in the southeast, merged northern Virginia's Soza Associates PC into its accounting and consulting group.

Soza, a local CPA firm, was established in 1969 to serve mid-sized businesses and individuals in the northern Virginia market. Cherry, Bekaert & Holland has already been active in the local business community for the past 15 years and the Soza addition is expected to complement the firm's presence and expand its reach throughout the greater Washington D.C. area.

Soza's areas of specialization include not-for-profits and government contracting, two of CBH's growth-oriented specialty areas. Soza's two partners and 10 staff members will join the five partners and more than 35 staff members already working at CB&H's Vienna, Va. office.

"We are excited about this combination," said Jerry Fox, partner in charge at CB&H's Virginia practice, in a statement. "Northern Virginia is one of the firm's key markets for strategic growth, and we are pleased to add the talent and experience of the professionals at Soza to our team."

CB&H ranked No. 33 on Accounting Today's 2005 list of Top 100 Firms, with revenues of $58 million.
