CBIZ Buys Employee Benefits Firm

CBIZ has acquired National Benefit Alliance, an employee benefits firm based in Midvale, Utah.

The acquisition took effect Jan. 1, 2010. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but NBA earned approximately $2 million in revenue in the past 12 months. Founded in 1998, NBA designs, implements and administers employee benefit plans for government contractors as well as the traditional commercial market.

"National Benefit Alliance's reputation for excellent client service, together with their proprietary benefit technology and expertise in serving the government-contracting industry, made them an ideal strategic acquisition candidate for CBIZ,” said CBIZ chairman and CEO Steven L. Gerard in a statement.

CBIZ provides audit and attest services through its affiliated CPA firm Mayer Hoffman McCann. Together CBIZ and Mayer Hoffman McCann ranked eighth on Accounting Today’s 2009 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $545.78 million in revenue.
