CBiz Looks to Hire Displaced Katrina Victims

CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services LLC and Mayer Hoffman McCann PC will offer temporary employment opportunities to qualified and eligible accounting industry professionals who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Providers of professional business services outsourcing, with offices around the country, the companies said that they are extending the opportunity in hopes that they can help individuals provide for their families during a difficult transition period.

"We want to do our small part to help alleviate the problems caused by the huge displacement of people," said the human resources director for CBiz's Disaster Response Team, Debbi Ballard, in a statement. "We can provide those in the accounting profession a means to earn an income until they can determine a more permanent course of action."

Ballard said that the firm has set up a toll-free number at (866) 511-CBIZ, ext. 2255, and e-mail address at hrec@cbiz.com, at which accounting industry professionals can contact CBIZ regarding their situation. CBiz will make offers of temporary employment following a screening process and upon mutual agreement to terms of employment. Ballard said that the team will provide quick response to all inquiries made.
